Set up an account with Stripe to start taking online payments through Solo

With Solo, you can capture online payments from your customers creating a seamless and secure payment experience for both you and your customers.

In order to set up online payments, you will need to set up a Stripe account. Stripe is a secure payment processing platform that allows you to accept payments and scale your business faster. Using Stripe means you can also take payments upfront, take deposits and impose a cancellation policy. 

Set up your Stripe Account

  1. Click on the settings icon in the bottom right hand corner 
  2. Click on payments
  3. Under 'Stripe Verification Required' click on set up account. This will redirect you to the Stripe website to create an account.
  4. Enter your business email address
  5. Enter your business mobile number. You will be sent a security code to your mobile that you will need to enter to proceed with the registration. 
  6. Enter the country where your business legally operates 
  7. Select your type of business
  8. Enter your personal details

  9. Enter your Solo booking website URL. If you haven't created your URL yet, please do this step first.
  10. Enter your bank account details for the account that you wish to receive payment to
    ⚠️ Ensure you double check your Sort Code and Account Number. This will be the account that you receive payment through for all Solo bookings where you have taken online payment
  11. Double check all of your details on the review page and then press submit 
  12. A screen will pop up to say 'Your stripe account is currently processing...'. This can take a bit of time and you will be able to check the status of your account in your Solo app 
  13. Once your Stripe account is connected, you will be able to view your Stripe dashboard to view your earnings, pending payments and payouts for all Solo bookings with online payment
  14. Click on settings >> payments >> online payments to review or edit how your business will show on bank statements. We recommend keeping this as your business name so it's easily identifiable for your customers 

Enable online payments 

Once you have connected your Stripe account, you will need to enable online payments for your bookings. 

  1. Click on settings
  2. Click on payments 
  3. Click on deposits 
  4. Scroll down and select online payment. This will then allow you to take upfront deposits, payments and enforce a cancellation policy
